Declarations submitted right the first time. Backed by people you can phone.

Customs brokerage is where most freight headaches begin. Our in-house team holds Royal Malaysian Customs licences at every gateway we operate from, handles every declaration class, and lives inside the uCustoms portal every working day.

Customs brokerage

Declarations, permits and SST advisory in one team.

We started life as a customs agency, so this discipline is the oldest in the house. Our seniors include former Royal Malaysian Customs officers and tariff classification specialists with decades behind them.

  • K1 import: lodged on uCustoms with pre-arrival risk-checks built in.
  • K2 export: drawn against your invoice and packing list with HS code peer review.
  • K8 transhipment / transit: bonded movement of cargo through Malaysia.
  • K9 removal from bonded warehouse: integrated with our warehousing service.
  • Permit applications: SIRIM, MITI, AP, DCA, MOH, DOE and the rest of the alphabet.
  • SST and trade advisory: classification opinions, FTA preference, drawback claims.
What you can expect

Habits that have kept our brokerage spotless.

HS code peer review

Every classification on a new product goes through a second senior before it is lodged. We log the reasoning in your file for future use.

Pre-clearance dry-runs

For first-time commodities and new origins, we run a no-cost mock declaration so you see the duty and SST impact before the cargo even leaves origin.

Permit register

We keep a permit register for your account — AP validity, SIRIM type approvals, MOH licences — and flag expiries six weeks ahead.

Refund and drawback

We file SST refund claims, customs drawback applications and re-export-of-temporary-import paperwork in-house.

Audit defence

If RMCD opens a post-clearance audit, your broker walks them through every line. Decade-long retention of source paperwork.

FTA preference

We hold the toolkit for ATIGA, MJEPA, MAFTA, MICECA, AKFTA, RCEP and the rest. Preferential rates claimed correctly and certificates filed properly.

Frequently asked — customs brokerage

Will you broker cargo I have already booked through another forwarder?

Yes. Roughly a third of our brokerage volume is brokerage-only work where the freight has been booked elsewhere. We take the master and house air waybills, the commercial invoice and packing list, and clear the cargo on arrival.

How long does a clearance typically take?

For a straightforward K1 with documents in order, declarations are lodged within two working hours of paperwork being released to us and cleared by RMCD on the same shift. Permits and physical examinations extend that timeline.

Can you arrange permits we have not held before?

Yes. We assess the regulatory pathway, recommend the right permit class, and walk you through application with the relevant ministry or agency. We do not charge for the assessment.

What happens if a tariff classification is challenged?

The original broker on file defends the classification with the audit team. We will share our reasoning notes, comparable case law and any tariff committee opinions we have on record.

Need a tariff opinion or a clearance pair of hands?

Send your commercial invoice and packing list and we will reply with a tariff opinion, duty and SST estimate, and a clearance plan within one working day.
